Rongwu is pronounced RONG-woo. Xu is pronounced sh-oo (like the start of "shoe"), not zoo or ex-oo.
I love outdoor adventures. Living in the Pacific Northwest makes that easy—hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing, and water sports are all close by. What I chase most is pure wilderness experiences: long days off-trail, sometimes 20+ hours and 25 miles through empty mountains, with nobody else around and no trails underfoot. The landscape feels like a puzzle, and you never know what comes next. I thrive in that solitude, with its mix of refreshment, doubt, fear, and freedom.
I keep a record of my trips here, many of which are about the great outdoors.
I also stay at home a lot. I spend my time with music, film, and literature.
I'm a huge car fan and a proud, long-time collector of miniature diecast cars, from Hot Wheels and Matchbox to Kyosho and many other brands. I started at the age of 13 and now have more than 2,000 of them (photo). I used to collect other things too, like hi-fi equipment, fountain pens, playing cards, (neo) vintage watches, but I've let most of those go for a simpler, more practical life.
Still on the to-do list: cooking, creating electronic music (especially trance), fishing, diving, sailing, dancing, oil painting, restoring antiques. There is never enough time to try everything.
Easy conversation starters: cars (big Top Gear fan), dinosaurs, sandwiches (burgers, gyros, burritos, you name it), or throw me a hot take like something from r/unpopularopinion. Odds are decent I'll agree with you.
Personal top three of rock pieces: Pink Floyd - Us and Them. Genesis - Ripples. GNR - Prostitute. Yes all of them are not that rock at all, so you know I'm never a traditionalist.
I always believe one should be of service to others.
